KIPP Charlotte, a local charter school, has been very involved with the Red Cross after deciding to donate to the Red Cross Haiti relief fund this fall. The students decided to use part of the money they raised via a school wide philanthropy program called “Denim Days.” This time the school has teamed up with the Red Cross to create a chant about the Holiday Giving Campaign. As KIPP teacher, Aaron Pomis, get the kids motivated and focused about performing their new chant for the first time ever, he explains that the chant was a collaboration of many students efforts. Originally the idea was to have the students compete by class and the best chant won. Ultimately, the teachers decided that with so many good ideas across the board that the best chant would come from all the students working together.
