Red Cross volunteers respond to 14-unit apartment fire

Nearly a dozen families were affected by a four-alarm fire Wednesday morning in uptown Charlotte. The blaze started at about 4 a.m. in the First Ward Apartments on North Davidson Street.


More than a dozen American Red Cross volunteers were on the scene to provide assistance to those affected as well as provide drinks and snacks for members of the Charlotte Fire Department and other first responders.
