Students get creative with Services to Armed Forces

Today the American Red Cross was privileged to have 30 youth and adults from the Jewish Community Center volunteer to help the Services to the Armed Forces (SAF) program.

The Red Cross SAF supports the military men and women overseas by providing support to family members who are left behind.  Many of these opportunities are organized in cooperation with the military units to provide activities for the families.  For example, some of these activities this past year were Halloween Trunk-or-Treat, a Christmas party and an Easter egg hunt.

Several activities are scheduled for July and August.  The Jewish Community Center summer campers prepared for these activities by doing some arts and crafts by creating displays and posters, filling gift bags and writing letters to overseas soldiers.

Thank you to our friends at the Jewish Community Center for their help on this very important project!
