Ginger Kelly, local Red Cross Tiffany Circle member, board member and volunteer, was recently presented with the Presidential Award for Excellence from our division of the Red Cross, which covers South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C.

The Presidential Award for Excellence is presented to an American Red Cross employee or volunteer who demonstrates superior job performance aligning with the organization’s priorities in one of three areas, one of which is fundraising.

Our region nominated Ginger for the award for all the work she did stewarding a donation from Howard Levine, which generated more than $1 million for our Red Cross.

Ginger has a long-standing history with the Red Cross. As a teenager, our organization reached out to her family while they were stationed with the U.S. Navy in the Philippines.  Since then, she has been a faithful supporter of the Red Cross, in Florida, New Jersey and, now, Charlotte.

“We are so fortunate to have Ginger on our board and as part of our Red Cross family,” said Angela Broome, CEO of the Carolina Piedmont Region of the American Red Cross.

Ginger also serves as co-chair of our local Tiffany Circle Society of Women, through which she cultivates relationships with new and potential members.
